Project Introduction
In this project the first step was to choose a country that was in South America and that had Spanish foods that were common in the area. Once we had chosen the country that we found interesting and wanted to learn about the next step was to find a dish that was common in the area and that was possible to get the ingredients in Durango. After determining what our food was and what the ingredients were the continuation was to find one of the ingredients in our recipe and then make an ode out of it. Nearing the end of the project to complete it and prepare for the presentation of our work we had to cook the food from the country that we had chosen and present it.
Project Reflection
The project in my experience was very fun and it actively engaged me in the Spanish that we were learning at the same time. For example the project was not sullen and boring throughout the process but was very fun with the cooking and writing the odes. The ode was also a huge thing for me because in Humanities we had just finished writing a poem, but now i had the chance to write a poem in a completely different language and style. Finally the presenting of the food was my favorite part because of how many people enjoyed the dish that I had made, that part made me so glad that we had done this project.
Ode
Ode to Eggs
Oh delicious and wonderful creation
Your yolk brightens the day of every soul,
Your white is like a delicate cloud on a plate
Bringing joy into every breakfast or meal.
The sound of your shell cracking and peeling
Makes me cringe with scrumptious thoughts.
Thoughts of devouring your creamy inside,
Thick like a heavenly paste presented to me.
While I listen to you cook and sizzle like a fireplace, Your smell travels through every household.
Every country has you and cherishes you,
Your contents are required in most recipes.
What would the world do without the traditional
Eggs.
